SC Royal Foal Futurity Welsh Stallion Auction

Established in 2020, The Royal Foal Futurity is high level competition featuring some of the best Welsh and Half Welsh weanlings in the country. These foals are a result of the breeding or buy-in purchased through the South-Central Stallion Auction from the preceding year.

The Futurity is funded from a portion of the Stallion Auction funds and provides weanling owners with the opportunity to show off premium foals while vying for the Futurity purse.

Who qualifies

·Any Purebred Welsh or Half Welsh that resulted from a SC Stallion Auction winning bid from the preceding year.  

 Mare must have Nomination Form on file and Foal must be owned by original breeder.

Entry Requirements

·Fill out the mare nomination form and a foal nomination form with paid entry fee.

 Enter the designated Royal Foal Futurity class

Fees and Prize Money

 Mare nominations are free if submitted before deadline stated on form.  Foal nomination fee is $50.

Prize Money is awarded according to the pre-determined percentages.  Currently, monies are awarded to three (3) places under the following percentages: First- 50% ; Second- 30% ; Third-20%. Any monies not awarded will be returned to the Stallion Auction General Funds. 

The prize money is based on the number of monies raised in the preceding year’s auction. The actual dollar amount of payouts will be announced once it has been determined.

Class Description

Judging  

Judged based on halter type for each section.  Ring Steward will notify the judge on each entry which section is represented.  50% judged on type/movement 30% foal turnout 20% on handler showmanship and turnout.

2024 Futurity Results

First place was awarded to Ar-Sh-We Cattleya sired by *Blanche Montana and out of Cat Creek Magnolia. Bred by Sally Davidson.

Second place was awarded to Tylwyth Isabella sired by Heavenly the Magi and out of Tylwyth Grace. Bred by Tylwyth Pony Farm.

Third place was awarded to Windscape Shasta Daisy sired by Evans Robert’s Dream and out of Cherubs Snapdragon. Bred by Jamie Kellison.

Fourth place was awarded to Ffrewyn Centre Stage sired by Halcyonia Feature Presentation and out of Voorens Magic Marie bred by Jen Robertson.

Fifth place was awarded to Tesoro Vincitore sired by Cherubs Casanova and out of Eternal Elegance DNSR. Bred by Sue Ann Wilson

Sixth place was awarded to Ain’t No Pony sired by Hawkmeadows Knight Strider and out of Maleficent D’Avalon. Bred by Patricia Tersteeg.
